Hatches Magazine
Hatches Magazine is an e-zine put out by the folk at the Fly Tying Forum. The format of the first incarnation was crap, plain and simple. It started out in life as a kludged PDF thing that was not even readable on a non-windows machine. Thankfully it seems to have improved over the past 4 months. It has evolved into a reasonably well formatted HTML mag, which has made it accessible to all readers on all platforms.
The content, on the other hand, is quite good. The primary focus seems to be fishing in the Northern Hemisphere, flies to suit their target species, tackle tips and reviews, and social and political comment. Most of the contributors frequent the Fly Tying Forum and/or their Rod Building Forum sister site, so if you require further information on any of the articles you can be sure to find someone on there who can shed some light on the subject.
Despite being dedicated to fishing the other side of the planet, there are enough articles in there that can be applied to Australasian waters to make it worth a visit now and then. I don't read it religiously, however it does help to break up a monotonous day in the office.
